The East Michigan Council of Government (EMCOG) was awarded $400,000 in July 2020 from the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) through the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act to develop an economic development disaster recovery strategy which will be an addendum to the 2021-2025 EMCOG Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) and which will be focused on pandemic recovery and resiliency. In addition to being a CEDS addendum, this plan will be designed to be utilized as an addendum and resource to county hazardous mitigation plans.
